The State Council Information Office launched a tour of Chinese and foreign media in Hunan between August 2 and 5. Some foreign media and official Chinese media were organized to tour Hunan to observe its rural revitalization advancements.
The Hunan Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hunan Bureau of Rural Revitalization held a press conference on the afternoon of August 2. The officials of the two departments introduced Hunan's achievements made in poverty alleviation and the advancements in promoting rural revitalization, and communicated with the Chinese and foreign media present.
Hunan is a powerhouse of agriculture. In recent years, the province has been thoroughly implementing President Xi Jinping's discourses on the issues relating to agriculture, rural areas, and rural people. Efforts have been done to ensure that the responsibilities of the Party chiefs at all levels in promoting rural revitalization are fulfilled, the rural revitalization strategy is vigorously carried out , and the development of county economy and village-level collective economy is accelerated. Based on these endeavors, the poverty alleviation achievements have been consolidated and expanded, and the work of promoting rural revitalization got off to a good start.
Media from the Nihon Keizai Shimbun and Kyodo News Agency of Japan, the Straits Times of Singapore, the Xinhua News Agency of China, and the China Media Group interviewed related officials on such aspects as transfer of rural land management rights, consolidation of poverty alleviation achievements, industrial development, grain production, and innovation in seed industry.
The participating media include some official Chinese media and foreign media from Germany, Japan, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Spain. They will visit Chunhua Town in Changsha, Qingxi Village in Yiyang, Shibadong Village in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and Hequn Village in Zhangjiajie, to learn about Hunan's advancements in promoting rural revitalization, until August 5.
