On the afternoon of August 1, Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, and Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Tie Ning, president of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and chairwoman of the China Writers Association, and Zhang Hongsen, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and vice chairman of the China Writers Association. Secretary Zhang, on behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province, welcomed the guests and thanked the China Writers Association for their care and support to Hunan. He noted that Hunan has thoroughly implemented President Xi Jinping's important expositions on literary and artistic work, united and led the majority of literary workers to carry out major themed creations and literary and artistic practices, and created a large number of well-known masterpieces. He expected the association to comprehensively strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Hunan, organize frequent literary activities in Hunan, increase support for Hunan's key works and literary talents, boost deep integration of culture and tourism, and promote the prosperity and development of Hunan's literary and artistic undertakings.

Chairwoman Tie thanked the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hunan Province for their strong support to the activities of the China Writers Association in Hunan. Vice Chairman Zhang remarked that the association will deepen cooperation with Hunan, to jointly present the great changes in China's rural areas and farmers' life in the new era and ascend the peak of literature.
