Recently, Changsha's consumption market has been as hot as the summer sun. Vibrant life scenes are everywhere in Changsha, from supermarkets and shopping malls to restaurants. Moreover, Changsha, an "Internet-famous city", is known for its nighttime economy and has been rated as the "Happiest City in China" for 14 consecutive years. All these have evidenced the recognition of Changsha's consumption economy and Changsha citizens' good life.

As night falls, Changsha's nightlife begins. From Yuelu Mountain and Fisherman's Wharf to Pozi Street and Dongguashan, to Sifangping and Yangfan Night Market, these food streets are ablaze with lights and bustling with people. As a result, the nighttime economy, represented by consumption at night, has become a strong driving force for economic development.

The average living expenditure of Changsha residents was 18,605 yuan in the first half of 2022, up 5.1% year on year, according to data released by the Changsha Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics on July 25th. Changsha is among the top four popular summer vacation destinations in China, according to a report released by Chinese online travel platform LY.COM. Similarly, Changsha ranked 10th on a list of cities for consumption vitality, which was released at the 2022 Forbes China Urban Consumption Development Forum on July 23rd. The hot summer, to some extent, contributes to Changsha’s rising consumption. Changsha's consumption potential is being unleashed at an accelerated pace, and the consumption market is showing great vitality.
