A joint meeting of the executive vice governors of the three provinces in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River – Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi – was held in Hunan’s Changsha on July 14. Li Dianxun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province; Liang Gui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Jiangxi Province; and, Dong Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and executive vice governor of the People's Government of Hubei Province, attended.
Li Dianxun said that Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi connect the east and the west and link the south and the north of China. The three provinces boast strategic significance in the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and have unprecedented development opportunities. Hunan will comprehensively implement the strategic positioning and tasks of the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy. Hunan, together with Hubei and Jiangxi, will uphold the concept of integrated development in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and cooperate in such aspects as development strategy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, sci-tech innovation integration, industrial ecology co-building, and public service sharing. Hunan will strive to promote coordinated development of the three provinces to a higher, broader, and deeper level.
Liang Gui added that the three provinces' concerted efforts have made remarkable achievements. Jiangxi will work together with Hunan and Hubei to seek new progress in policy support, key projects, industrial cooperation, ecological environmental protection, and construction of inter-provincial border area cooperation demonstration zone, and make greater contributions to high-quality development of the three provinces.
Dong Weimin said that Hubei will take the lead in cooperation and take practical measures to facilitate the formation of synergy, give full play to the role of joint offices, and promote greater achievements in coordinated development of the three provinces.
