The General Offices of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People's Government recently issued the "Implementation Plan of Changsha to Build a Demonstration Hub for In-depth Cooperation with Africa". According to the plan, Changsha will strive to accomplish 14 tasks in three major sectors. As a result, by 2026, the total trade volume between Changsha and Africa will hit 50 billion yuan.

In recent years, the economic and trade cooperation between Changsha and Africa has become increasingly close. In the first five months of 2022, Changsha's imports from and exports to Africa reached 8.72 billion yuan, up 79.7% from last year's period. Changsha is an important node city of the Belt and Road Initiative, the permanent host city of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, and a pilot zone for in-depth China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. Promoting practical economic and trade cooperation with Africa is an important measure to vigorously implement the Strategy of "Strengthening the Provincial Capital" and boost high-quality development.

"By the end of 2026, Changsha's trade value with Africa will exceed 50 billion yuan. Over 500 key enterprises having economic and trade cooperation with Africa will be introduced and nurtured...". The plan sets targets for total trade volume, enterprise entity, headquarters economy, experience innovation, and pilot work, aiming to build Changsha into an internationally influential demonstration hub for in-depth cooperation with Africa.
