The mascots and logo for the first Tourism Development Conference of Hunan Province and the tourism image slogan of Zhangjiajie City were unveiled in Zhangjiajie on July 11.
All favored the two mascots named "Shanwawa" and "Nibaobao" at the press conference.
The head of "Shanwawa" is in the shape of a Chinese character "山". In addition, "Shanwawa" has a peak-shaped decoration on its legs. It conveys strength, fortitude, honest, and loveliness.
The design of "Shanwawa" was inspired by Zhangjiajie's adorable giant salamander, a national second-class protected species. The brim of "Shanwawa" and the scarf of "Nibaobao" are distinctively decorated with Xilankapu patterns of Tujia ethnic group. Xilankapu is a kind of Tujia brocade.
"Wonderland Zhangjiajie" is both the logo of the first Tourism Development Conference of Hunan Province and the logo of tourism image of Zhangjiajie City. Yubi Peak in Tianzi Mountain inspired its design. The three peaks in the middle mean that there are three thousand strange peaks in Zhangjiajie, and the four mountains symbolize that Zhangjiajie's two districts and two counties pursue common development. Auspicious clouds floating around the green mountains create a wonderland-like and enchanting scene. The logo will be widely used in Zhangjiajie's major cultural tourism events, investment promotion activities, urban public buildings, and featured zones.
The slogan "Wonderland Zhangjiajie Enchanted the World by Unparalleled Peaks" stood out from 11,588 entries and won the golden prize of 300,000 yuan. It was created by a young man named Zhou Wenwen, born after the 90s. In addition, nine other candidates were rewarded 10,000 yuan each.
At the press conference, the Tourism Working Committee of the CPC Zhangjiajie Municipal Committee presented certificates and rewards to prize-winners.
