The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the results of its evaluation on the development quality of 414 national new-type industrialization  demonstration bases in 2021. Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone (equipment manufacturing and engineering machinery) was rated as a five-star demonstration base. It is the only one in the province that has won the honor for three consecutive years.

Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone (CETDZ for short) has taken a "5G plus Industrial Internet" special action with typical scenes as the core to promote the evolution of equipment manufacturing toward intelligent manufacturing. At Bosch Changsha factory, the first world "lighthouse factory" in Hunan Province, "5G plus Industrial Internet" technologies are widely applied. Raw material supply, transportation, internal flow, production, and goods delivery are all connected by a logistics middle platform through real-time data. This has made the process from raw materials to finished products traceable. The platform saved for Bosch Changsha factory 30% logistics costs and shortened the days of sales of inventory by 15%. The production cycle shrunk to 64% of what it was three years ago. Factory productivity increased by 20%, and labor costs reduced by 12%.

CETDZ was selected as the first "5G plus Industrial Internet" pilot zone in the province in July 2020. Since then, it has actively advanced the digital, internet and intelligent transformation of industries, and guided enterprises to widely use new-generation information technology. It has carried out innovative research on intelligent manufacturing scenarios, focusing on four aspects, namely, high-end equipment digitalization, supply chain networked coordination, green development of equipment manufacturing and high-end equipment technology optimization and reinforcement. Relevant units at the zone are given a subsidy up to 8 million yuan.
