Two short-distance air travel routes will open within July, respectively between Hunan's Chenzhou and Jiangxi's Ganzhou and between Hunan's Zhuzhou and Zhangjiajie. A manager of the Hunan General Aviation Co., Ltd. told the details of the routes at a press conference of the 2022 Hunan International General Aviation Industry Expo on July 5.

The two routes will adopt small-sized aircraft which can carry eight people, and the travel time will be within 2 hours, which are suitable for family travels.

The Chenzhou-Ganzhou route will open on July 8. Passengers can check ticket information and book tickets on the official website of the Jiangxi Express Commuter Aviation Co., Ltd. The price is 199 yuan/person at present. Each aircraft can carry eight people. The route is 191 km in length, with the travel time lasting about one hour. It will be a good choice for family and friend travels.

The Zhuzhou-Zhangjiajie route is also highly anticipated. Upon operation later this month, this round trip will take about one hour and a half, also served by eight-people aircraft. The estimated ticket price is 200 yuan/person.

Such air tours can link several scenic spots on different travel routes, unlike the conventional civil aviation routes, which fly towards specific destinations and mainly serve business trips. Beyond that, the small-sized aircraft may be outsourced to travel agencies to provide chartered flight services and tourism promotions. "Passengers can experience the all-for-one tourism service in such air tours. It is an emerging consumption and has huge market potential," the manager said.

Such short-distance general aviation service features "small-sized aircraft, short routes, and short travel time”. It provides an efficient option for travelers from remote areas. It will be essential in complementing the existing aviation network and building China into an aviation powerhouse.

"Hunan's successful practice in short-distance air transport will contribute to constructing a provincial 'one-hour air commuting circle’, forming a new 'aviation + tourism' business mode, and accelerating Hunan's high-quality development of low-altitude economy,” said the manager.
