A total of 61,000 people engaged in new forms of employment have become members of labor unions in Hunan Province since the beginning of this year. On July 5, the Hunan Federation of Trade Unions launched a centralized recruitment for the people engaged in new forms of employment. There were 46 sub-venues in 13 cities and 1 prefecture across the province opened for more than 11,000 people to join the labor unions simultaneously.

Zhou Nong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress and chairman of the Hunan Federation of Trade Unions, attended.

It was learned that the total number of the workers engaged in the new employment form has exceeded 3.2 million in Hunan Province, but most of them have not yet become members of labor unions. In recent years, in order to effectively protect their rights and interests, labor and trade unions at all levels in Hunan Province have kept ratcheting up efforts to help the workers engaged in new forms of employment. Focusing on the establishment mode of "setting up labor unions in key areas, major industries, and with bottom line", they have made every effort to expand the organizational coverage of the workers engaged in the new employment form. Meanwhile, by coordinating and promoting the construction of trade union service sites such as "Drivers' Home" and "Station for Outdoor Workers", they actively helped newly-employed workers to solve their difficulties and meet their demands in terms of wages, labor security, skill improvement, physical and mental health, and career development, so as to enhance their sense of gain, happiness, and security.

A person in charge of the Hunan Federation of Trade Unions introduced that in order to facilitate people doing flexible jobs to join the labor unions, the federation has launched the WeChat mini program of "Xiangruhui ". Workers who have not yet registered only need to log in through WeChat authorization, fill in relevant information, and submit an application before getting the membership qualification.
