"A Taste of Xiangxi" Food Festival and the "Xiangxi Ever Bright City" street opened in Jishou City on the evening of July 4, contributing to the first Xiangxi Tourism Development Conference. Guo Zhenggui, secretary of the CPC Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Committee, announced the opening of the "Xiangxi Ever Bright City"street. Long Xiaohua, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Committee and head of the prefecture, announced the launch of the food festival.
Delicious Xiangxi food including Huayao Miao fish, Luxi vegetarian rice noodles, Yongshun Zejiahu mutton, Longshan peppery chicken, and Jishou Qianzhou pressed salted duck were served at the food festival in Qianzhou Ancient Town. Four activities were held during the festival to carry forward Xiangxi food culture, including "A Taste of Xiangxi" live-action performances, local special dishes promotion, food livestreaming event, and food exhibition. The festival was an innovative attempt to show the image of Xiangxi and promote the tourism brand of "Mysterious Xiangxi".
The opening ceremony of the "Xiangxi Ever Bright City" street demonstrated the openness, inclusiveness, innovation, and vitality of Xiangxi. There was exciting music, colorful lights, and bustling scenes.
The "Xiangxi Ever Bright City" street is the first of its kind in Hunan. It focuses on Xiangxi culture, Tujia and Miao folk customs, and intangible cultural heritage experience, and scenario interaction.
