The first Vocational Skills Competition of Hunan Province was unveiled in Zhuzhou City on the morning of July 4, 2022. It is the largest of its kind in Hunan Province since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

The theme of this competition is "Vocational Skills Create Hunan's Future". The competition events are closely connected with the provincial core industries, 20 emerging and advantageous industrial chains, and the technical standards of international and national skills competitions. There are 188 events in additive manufacturing, construction machinery, electrical appliances, and other fields, of which 55 are held in a centralized manner and 133 in a decentralized manner. A total of 1,087 contestants from 35 delegations involved in 21 industrial sectors from 13 cities and 1 prefecture competed in 55 events.
