An international freight train, fully loaded with Hunan-made diesel engines and parts, Ca-Zn stabilizers, and other products, departed from the Huaihua International Land Port towards Hanoi in Vietnam on July 2, 2022. Connecting Huaihua and Hanoi, it was the first China-Vietnam freight train of Hunan's ASEAN-oriented freight hub. It marked the opening of a new line on China's Western Land-Sea Corridor after the launch of the maiden freight connecting Huaihua and Vientiane of Laos on January 6.
The train carried 35 heavy-loaded carriages loaded with cargo worth 260,000 USD. It was managed by the Hunan branch of the Western Land-Sea Corridor operator and the Sinotrans Limited, and the cargo was delivered through the ASEAN Freight Hub.
In order to ensure that the train would depart as scheduled, the Huaihua Customs opened a green channel and specially assigned staff members to guide export enterprises and customs brokers to increase their customs clearance efficiency.
China (Huaihua) – Vietnam (Hanoi) International Freight Train service would open a freight channel between China and Vietnam, and help expand Hunan-ASEAN trade.
The customs data shows that, in the first half of 2022, the Huaihua International Land Port has operated 52 trains of the China-Laos and the rail-sea freight services. The China-Laos freight trains have handled 5,902.3 tons of cargo, and the rail-sea freight trains have 53,284.3 tons.
