On June 29, working staff were busy preparing for the launch of the first China-Vietnam freight train at the customs supervision zone in the Huaihua International Land Port.
The Huaihua International Land Port has an annual goal of handling at least 100 freight train trips in 2022, according to a manager of the port. As of June 27, it had handled 51 freight train trips, with the gross cargo weight reaching 64,900 tons, worth more than 403 million yuan. The goals for the first half of this year have been overfulfilled ahead of time.
In the first half, Huaihua has ridden on the wave of the provincial government's guideline on thoroughly participating in the Belt and Road Initiative and supporting construction of the Huaihua International Land Port, and played a positive role in implementing the "Strengthening Provincial Capital" Strategy. It overcame the difficulties and headwinds like the COVID-19 and short supply of goods, and developed new clients and new goods sources, which laid a foundation for the overfulfillment of goals ahead of time. As of June 27, the land port had handled 307 train carriages for the China-Laos freight train service, and 971 for rail-sea combined transport service.
