The 2022 China Advanced Materials Industrial Innovation and Development Conference, also the Changsha New Materials Industry Expo, opened in Changsha on June 25.

Hunan Vice Governor Chen Fei announced opening of the event. An array of academicians and experts attended the opening ceremony or sub-forums, including Huang Boyun, Gan Yong, Ding Wenjiang, Chai Liyuan, Chen Jun, Fu Zhengyi, and Han Yafang. 

New materials industry is an industrial sector with strategic and foundational significance. Hunan Province has distinct advantages in materials industry, with the total output in the front rank nationwide. There are ten industrial parks and zones with superiority in new materials.

Hunan has the most varieties of advanced energy storage materials, with the industrial output and market share ranking first in China. Besides, Hunan ranks first nationwide and second worldwide, in terms of cemented carbide output.

The event, themed "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and industrial synergy", adopted a "conference + exhibition" mode. An opening ceremony and keynote lecture meeting, a provincial new materials industrial chain meeting, and five professional forums would be held. A new materials industrial chain exhibition covering 5,000 sqm accommodated more than 100 high-quality enterprise exhibitors.

Compared with the previous sessions, this session boasted higher standard, better services, and stronger industrial cohesion. It would help solve the difficulties of industrial parks and enterprises, boost in-depth integration of the upstream and downstream industries in new materials, assist Hunan's new materials industry to match with quality resources at home and abroad, and provide a strong driver for forming an internationalized industrial ecology.
