The 10th China (Hunan) International Mineral and Gem Expo (CMGE) will be held at the Chenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center between July 8 and 12, 2022. The theme is "Amazing Mineral Crystals and Rare Tungsten Ore".

The expo was initiated in 2013. It was approved by the State Council as China's only Hunan-based mineral and gem exhibition and trade event. It is one of the largest mineral and gem exhibitions in Asian countries. The first two sessions were held in Changsha, and then it was settled in Chenzhou in 2015. So far, it had been held for 7 consecutive years in Chenzhou as a comprehensive exchange platform highlighting publicity, investment promotion, industrial development, and sci-tech popularization.

This session is co-hosted by the Palaeontological Society of China and the Chenzhou Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd. It will adopt both online and offline interactions. The 60,000-sqm offline exhibition area will have about 1,000 standard booths, and four themed zones respectively displaying mineral crystals, colored gems, fossils and meteorites, and crafts. The online expo will have 30 VR booths and 500 standard ones.

Chenzhou boasts distinct advantage in tungsten mining. A complete industrial chain consisting of mine exploration, selecting and smelting, deep processing, research and development, and trade has formed.

With tungsten crystal as a main exhibit, this session will adopt modern sci-tech means to display tungsten's properties, characteristics and structure, and application of tungsten products. Beyond that, a symposium on the inheritance and innovation of museums, a mineral crystal auction, and some sci-tech popularization activities will be organized.
