Deputy Secretary Zhu welcomed Mr. Somkhit VANKHAM to take office in Changsha. He noted that China and Laos are socialist friendly neighbors and an unbreakable community with a shared future. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two countries, the exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Laos have achieved fruitful results.
The Consulate-general of Laos in Changsha has been established for more than four years. It has played an important role in boosting collaboration between Hunan and Laos in various fields and enhancing the friendship between the people of both sides. Hunan is now thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the 12th CPC Hunan Provincial Congress; fully implementing the positioning, missions, and tasks of the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy; and unswervingly following the guidance of President Xi Jinping, to move forward in the direction of building a new modern socialist Hunan in all respects. He expected that both sides will work together to further promote in-depth cooperation in friendship-city ties, economic and trade partnership, industrial development, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and other fields, and jointly promote the building of the China-Laos community with a shared future, he added.
Consul General VANKHAM remarked that in recent years, the cooperation between Laos and Hunan has become increasingly close, and the cooperation areas have continued to expand. On this basis, he would like to promote deeper, broader and more efficient exchanges and cooperation between cities, enterprises, and the people of both sides, and make new contributions to consolidating and deepening the traditional friendship between Laos and China.
