On June 16, the launching ceremony of cultural tourism voucher issuance and 500,000 tourists visiting Zhangjiajie was held in Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie. The activities, part of the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference, are public-interest ones and help ease enterprises' burden. 

The voucher issuance event was held at the provincial and municipal levels. The Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will cooperate with well-known platforms inside and outside the province to offer vouchers to consumers nationwide, based on a provincial financial support of 10 million yuan and nearly 100 million yuan of funds or resources provided by the platforms.

The vouchers consist of three million yuan for consumption at Zhangjiajie's scenic areas, restaurants and homestays and consumption of tourism performances and travel agencies' tourist products, and seven million yuan for consumption at scenic areas at A-level or above across the province, starred hotels, and consumption of travel agencies' tourist products. Zhangjiajie, with tourism as its pillar industry, has been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic in the past three years. The tourism economy has been hit hard. In particular, group tours have dropped dramatically. Aiming to promote the rapid recovery of Zhangjiajie's tourism market, the provincial finance authority will fund travel agencies with 5 million yuan to carry out the "500,000 tourists visiting Zhangjiajie" activity. In turn, Zhangjiajie's scenic areas will offer free admissions to 500,000 tourists. The event will start from July 1, 2022, and the deadline is subject to the date when the visitor cap of 500,000 is reached before December 31, 2022.

The event, sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the People's Government of Zhangjiajie City, will further promote the rapid recovery and development of tourism in Zhangjiajie City and even the whole province. Cultural tourism enterprises will be confident, cultural tourism market will be flourishing, and cultural tourism consumption will rise.
