Themed "Discover the Beauty of Hunan and Meet in Hunan", an activity for people belonging to new social groups to boost Hunan's tourism development was launched in Zhangjiajie on June 15. Hunan's 13 cities and one prefecture participated in the activity online and a variety of "discovering beauty" events would be held across the province simultaneously.

The "Discover the Beauty of Hunan and Meet in Hunan" Event is part of the 2022 "Discover the Beauty of China" Campaign hosted by people belonging to new social groups across China. The Hunan event is under the auspices of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee United Front Work Department, the Cyberspace Administration of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. It is hosted by the Hunan New Social Stratum Association and attended by their social organizations. The event lasts from June to December.

During the event, internet celebrities, internet writers, internet-famous livestreamers will visit Hunan to discover the beauty of traditional culture, natural scenery, innovation and creation, and reform and development. Based on these, they will strive to create excellent works with positive energy that are full of the characteristics of the times and reflect the spirit of the times. Their works will be broadcast and publicized on many online platforms, to fully display the new image of the splendid and beautiful Hunan. Thus, people belonging to new social groups could contribute their wisdom and strength to making Hunan a world tourism destination, serving the province’s high-quality development, and developing a new development paradigm.

At the launching ceremony, the organizing committee hired nine internet celebrities as the "promoters" for the event. Chen Zhiqiang, chairman of the Hunan New Social Stratum Association, read out a proposal, calling on people from new social groups in the province to actively participate in the "Discover the Beauty of Hunan and Meet in Hunan" Event.

Zhangjiajie has been chosen as the venue to host the first Hunan Tourism Development Conference. After the launching ceremony, representatives of Hunan Internet celebrities visited Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon and Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area to cheer for the upcoming conference.
