Two all-cargo air routes respectively linking Changsha with Osaka in Japan and Manila in the Philippines launched their maiden flights on June 14, 2022. These air routes are operated by the Central Airlines. The Changsha Huanghua International Airport hence ushered in a new chapter in air freight business.
Five flights are operated on the Changsha-Osaka air route every week. China-made general cargo and e-commercial products are mainly carried for export, such as automobile parts, moulds, and yardage rolls. Chilled and lived seafood, and e-commercial goods are imported. The return flight arrives in Changsha at 8:00 pm on that day, carrying imported lived seafood worth about 250,000 yuan with scallops in majority.
Three flights are operated on the Changsha-Manila air route every week. They mainly transport e-commercial products, and high-added-value goods such as medicine, mechanical and electrical products, hi-tech products, and integrated circuits for export, while distinctive fruits and seafood for import.
The Central Airlines has launched three regular international air freight routes in Changsha airport, which link Changsha with Bangkok, Osaka, and Manila. It plans to operate 13 flights on these routes per week, and increase 17,000 tons of cargo throughput for the Changsha airport.
The new air routes will facilitate Hunan to collaborate with other RCEP member countries in economy and trade, and better assist Hunan enterprises in the competitions in the international market. In the future, the Hunan Airport Corporation will strive to expand international air freight routes, continue to serve import and export trade, and promote Hunan's cross-border e-commerce development.
