At 7:34 on June 14, a China-Europe freight train carrying 50 containers of household appliances, electric bicycles, daily necessities and other goods left the Changsha International Railway Port, heading for Poland.
The China-Europe freight train service in Changsha maintains its strong momentum of growth in 2022. From January to May, Changsha has handled 437 China-Europe freight trains, up 55% year-on-year. A total of 39,530 TEUs of goods have been transported. They weigh 295,100 tons, and are valued at 1.168 billion USD. The high-quality regular operation of the trains has effectively ensured smooth trade channels for Hunan's imports and exports.
Faced with the dual pressure of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Changsha has taken multiple measures to ensure the stable operation of China-Europe freight trains.
“We have stabilized the supply of goods by actively opening up supply channels, increasing the transfer of goods nationwide, and expanding the varieties of goods from existing sources. Based on the optimization of transportation, we have continuously improved the overall transport capacity to ensure that the fixed routes are smooth,” said Yao Xiaoxiong, a person in charge of the South Central China International Land Port.
