Hunan will pilot to select a batch of industrial clusters with distinctive foreign trade industry advantages and prominent driving effect, and to which the county government attaches great importance, in 10 counties or county-level cities this year. These industrial clusters will be built into county-based featured foreign trade industrial clusters, according to the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province announced on June 14.
The shortlisted featured foreign trade industrial clusters are:
- mica industrial cluster in Pingjiang County, Yueyang
- buoy industrial cluster in Linxiang City, Yueyang
- electronic information industrial cluster in Taoyuan County, Changde
- biological medicine and medical devices industrial cluster in Jinshi City, Changde
- dark tea industrial cluster in Anhua County, Yiyang
- bamboo shoots industrial cluster in Taojiang County, Yiyang
- rare and precious metals comprehensive recycling and utilization industrial cluster in Yongxing County, Chenzhou
- electronic information and advanced manufacturing industrial cluster in Daoxian County, Yongzhou
- textile, shoes, leatherware, bags and suitcases industrial cluster in Lanshan County, Yongzhou
- construction machinery advanced manufacturing in Lianyuan City, Loudi
Such county-based featured foreign trade industrial clusters are fostered to promote integrated development of county-based featured industries and foreign trade and opening up of the counties. Four such clusters had been cultivated last year, namely the textile industrial cluster in Changning City, Hengyang; vegetable industrial cluster in Hanshou County, Changde; casting and forging industrial cluster in Jiahe County, Chenzhou; and, tea industrial cluster in Xinhua County, Loudi. So far, there are 14 county-based featured foreign trade industrial clusters.
