1. Taozi Lake
Taozi Lake is at the foot of Yuelu Mountain and at the junction of Hunan Normal University and Hunan University at the Yuelu Mountain University Town. While enjoying lotus flowers, people can either take a walk along the Xiangjiang River or climb the Yuelu Mountain. They can also visit the snack street to taste delicious food at the university town.

2. Hunan Martyrs Park
More than 20 mu (1.3 ha.) of lotus flowers have been planted in the southeast of Nianjia Lake, Hunan Martyrs Park. Most of them are medicinal lotus flowers. Every year, the flowering season begins in June, and lasts until the end of July and the beginning of August. Blooming lotus flowers dotted with green leaves form a beautiful scene on the lake, attracting many visitors to take pictures and draw sketches.

3. Yanghu National Wetland Park
Various lotus flowers and water lilies can be seen at the Yanghu National Wetland Park.

4. Hunan Forest Botanical Garden
Lotus flowers are mainly planted near the scientific research center of the Hunan Forest Botanical Garden. They have rich petal forms and colors. They form a colorful world together with 400,000 rare flowers and plants.

5. Changsha Yuehu Lake
Changsha Yuehu Park, or Moon Lake is a moon-themed cultural landscape. The charming view of dozens of mu (0.067 ha.) of lotus flowers called “Moonlight over the Lotus Pond” is one of the park’s ten famous scenes. Lotus flowers at the park are in full bloom in July. Despite the limited lotus fields, the park, with its geographical advantage, is still a good choice for people to enjoy lotus flowers and relax themselves.

6. Sutuoyuan, Kaifu District
There is a tradition of growing lotus flowers in Sutuoyuan, a low-lying area with rich water resources. Every summer, 5,000 mu (333 ha.) of lotus flowers are in full bloom under the Sujiatuo Viaduct near the North 2nd Ring Road, Changsha. The sea of lotus flowers has become a beautiful landscape, attracting numerous visitors.

7. Central South University
There is a beautiful lotus pond in the south campus of Central South University. Winding red balustrade and green lotus leaves add radiance and beauty to each other. There is a pavilion with red columns and green tiles, which looks particularly beautiful in the sunshine. There are long benches around the pavilion for rest, and a stone table and stools in the center of the pavilion.

8. Qiaokou Town, Wangcheng District
Qiaokou Town originally planted 1,500 mu (100 ha.) of lotus flowers. In 2017, the planting area was increased by more than 800 mu (53 ha.). There are more than 120,000 high-quality lotus flowers and 20,000 water lilies.

9. Nongqu Valley, Yuelu District
Nongqu Valley has Hunan’s first colorful art asphalt road, and Changsha’s first 100-mu (6.7 ha.) terraced lotus pond. It is known as a cultural oxygen bar and an urban pastoral complex in Yuelu District.
