Various folklore activities were launched across the province during the holiday.
Zhang Guying Scenic Area in Yueyang County organized ten folk cultural activities such as blacksmithing, fan painting, shadow play, and soymilk grinding, and displayed cultural and creative products of Zhang Guying Village.
At the Chenzhou Cultural Center, a public benefit class was offered to teach tourists to read classic books, make zongzi (a glutinous rice dumpling wrapped up with bamboo or reed leaves), and make sachets.
Yongzhou Huaqiangu Scenic Area arranged traditional activities such as making zongzi; Touhu game, or Pitch-pot, an ancient entertainment that requires players to throw sticks from a set distance into a canister; and picking Chinese mugwort. These events integrated traditional culture with food, handicraft works, and sports.
Tongchongkou, a 1,000-year-old Yao village, held a traditional festival of Yao ethnic group to worship the God of Medicine to drive out evil spirits and pray for blessings. A banquet featuring Yao characteristics was served.

The Dragon Boat Festival holiday saw a boom in self-driving tours, rural tours, vacation tours, and family visits. Popularity of rural tourist attractions with open-air barbecues, flower viewing and fishing, fruit and vegetable picking, and farm meals continued to rise. Rural tourism has become the main driving force behind the economic growth of holiday tourism. Sanjia Village in Qiyang, Xiaguan Village in Ningyuan, Goulan Yao Village in Jiangyong and other places had a steady stream of tourists and were very popular. Suburban featured towns, rural tourism, homestays, and rural pastoral complexes continued to be favored by tourists. Tourism specialties were in short supply due to a large number of tourists.

Nighttime cultural tourism consumption has become a new growth point. During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, major squares in Loudi were brightly lit and colorful, being magnets for tourists. "The night sky is the brightest at 8:30 in Chenzhou.” Nighttime cultural tourism consumption cluster has become a new place for citizens and tourists to relax. Nighttime cultural tourism markets and rural tourism products were favored by tourists.
