The Hunan-Jiangxi Border Area Regional Cooperation Demonstration Zone is a popular red or revolutionary tourist destination. The Hunan-Jiangxi cultural tourism card was launched last year. Cardholders could enjoy lower price service with the total amount reaching more than 100 million yuan at more than 300 scenic spots, hotels and supermarkets.
Cooperation and communication in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area are increasing and smoothing. In June last year, Hunan’s Liuyang City reached a cooperation agreement with Jiangxi’s Shangli County to explore ways of directly settling medical expenses incurred outside of a patient’s home province. A total of 868 settlements of medical expenses for treatment incurred outside the province where the patient resides were done in the first quarter. About 2.41-million-yuan medical expenses were paid through unified accounts.
In recent years, Liuyang has accelerated the construction of projects such as the green food industrial park in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area and the remote consultation platform in the Hunan-Jiangxi border area, to explore and empower regional cooperation and development.
Based on red tourism, rural revitalization, featured industries, and technological innovation, the Hunan-Jiangxi Border Area Regional Cooperation Demonstration Zone is being built into a leading area for promoting rural revitalization among old revolutionary bases across the country. Hunan’s Guidong County and Jiangxi’s several counties, cities and districts have conducted all-round cooperation in rural revitalization and epidemic prevention and control to seek common development.
Last year, more services were provided on a cross-provincial basis in Hunan and Jiangxi to enable connectivity of services, systems, data, electronic licenses and certificates, and users. The procedures are more standardized and normalized. In 2021, the GDP of the Hunan and Jiangxi border area reached more than 667 billion yuan.
