On May 18, the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) released a list of 10 new "National Women's Patriotism Education Bases". Changsha's Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall and Miao Boying's Former Residence are on the list.
Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall.
Located in Kaihui Town, Changsha County, the Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall has accepted more than 1.6 million tourist visits annually since it opened to the public for free in 2009. The memorial hall highlights Martyr Yang Kaihui’s glorious images as a good daughter who inherits family traditions honestly, a good student who serves the people loyally, a good mother who educates her son faithfully, a good wife with fidelity to love, and an outstanding CPC member who is loyal to the revolution.
Miao Boying's Former Residence.
Miao Boying's Former Residence is situated at Piaofeng Mountain Village, Kaihui Town, Changsha County. The residence vividly shows the lofty revolutionary ideals and magnificent days of youth of Comrade Miao Boying, a pioneer of women's movements, a heroine who has devoted her life to the CPC, and China's first female CPC member.
"National Women's Patriotism Education Base" is a memorial place to commemorate women, women's groups, and women-related organizations with higher historical status and greater social influence in various historical periods, especially in the New Democratic Revolution led by the CPC.
Up to now, the ACWF has announced 47 "National Women's Patriotism Education Bases". Among them, there are four from Hunan. They are: the "Warmth of Half a Quilt" Special Exhibition Hall, Xiang Jingyu's Former Residence, Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall, and Miao Boying's Former Residence.
