The Nanyue Scenic Area will open to the public free of charge between May 19 and 20, according to the notice of the Nanyue District People's Government announced on May 15. Scenic spots including Nanyue Core Scenic Area, Nanyue Temple, Shuilian Cave, and Wanshou Tripod offer free admission. Tourists are required to make a real-name reservation on the official WeChat account of “Nanyue Tourism [南岳旅游]”.

Currently the flowers on Hengshan Mountain are in full bloom, and the weather is pleasant and the air is fresh there. On fine days, it is possible to view an amazing sea of clouds.

During daytime, tourists can pray for blessings at the Nanyue Temple and enjoy fresh air at the core scenic area with a forest coverage rate of more than 90%. They can trace the Sanskrit Valley Ancient Road, Xu Xiake Ancient Road, and Zeng Guofan Ancient Road to recall history and experience culture. They can try rock climbing at the Shuilian Cave, pick tea leaves at Shili Tea Township, ride a bicycle in Hongxing Village, and camp at Shuilian Village.

At night, tourists can have a night tour, participate in an intangible cultural heritage-themed concert, watch parade performances, light shows, and magic shows, and attend a campfire party in Nanyue Ancient Town and Zhurong Town.

Nanyue gourmet food is also a must-eat for tourists. Known as the “home of vegetarian diet in China”, Nanyue integrates vegetarian diet culture, local dishes, and beautiful scenery to develop diverse and nutritious food. Beans, vegetables, fungus, and fruits are cooked into delicious delicacies, which have the similar taste of “chicken”, “ducks”, “fish”, and “meat”. Nanyue local dishes have enjoyed a good reputation.

Mr. Liu from Changsha City planned to take a romantic tour in Nanyue with his girlfriend on May 20. May 20 is also the "day of love". The pronunciation of "520" is similar to "I Love You" in Chinese.
