Governor Mao pointed out that Hunan Province has launched the "Summer Campaign" on pollution prevention and control for five consecutive years. Hunan's ecological environment quality has been improved significantly, the green development level has been upgraded, the environmental governance capacity has been continuously consolidated, and the people's sense of fulfillment has continued to increase.
Last year, the good or moderate air quality rate of Hunan Province reached 91%, and 97.3% of the surface water sections monitored by the state showed excellent and good quality, ranking 4th nationwide. The energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP dropped by 3.8%, and 2,693 pollution treatment and control tasks were completed. Hunan's pollution prevention and control work has been awarded national excellence award for two consecutive years.
