The 4th Brand and Quality Online Shopping Festival African Goods Promotion Conference and the “Africa Me” Specialty-Tasting Event were held at the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Innovation Demonstration Park of the Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market, Yuhua District on May 2nd, 2022. The activities were hosted by the People’s Government of Yuhua District and the Yuhua District Management Committee of the Hunan Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, and undertaken by the Hunan Gaoqiao Grand Market.

Among the 21 pilot free trade zones approved in China, the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone is the only one that specializes in in-depth economic and trade cooperation between China and Africa. During the 2nd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo last year, the “African Brand Warehouse” project of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Innovation Demonstration Park introduced 106 African products, which were well received by visitors. More and more African products have entered the domestic market thanks to the advancement of the construction of the China-Africa supply chain for non-resource products. In the future, the “African Brand Warehouse” project will bring more high-quality African goods to Chinese consumers, promote the rapid growth of China-African trade, and make Gaoqiao Market the “birthplace of African brands in China”.
