On April 21, the Changsha Municipal People’s Government released 193 smart city application scenarios, involving such fields as fine governance, people-friendly services, eco-friendly and livable environment, and industrial economy. The total investment is estimated to be 5.25 billion yuan.

The competition for solutions in key areas of new smart city construction was launched simultaneously. Races in seven aspects including smart emergency response, urban lifeline, and digital countryside will be set up to select advanced and mature solutions from across the country.

In recent years, the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government have actively seized new opportunities brought about by the development of digital economy. They have regarded the construction of “new smart demonstration city” as the biggest application scenario and used application scenarios to drive digital economy.

Since 2020, Changsha has successively released three lists of smart city construction scenarios, with a total of 184 application scenarios and a total investment of nearly 6 billion yuan. Well-known enterprises in the industry such as China Electronics Corporation, Tencent, Huawei and Qi Anxin have been attracted to settle here successively. In 2021, Changsha’s digital economic aggregate reached nearly 400 billion yuan.
