On April 19, Changsha City held a ceremony for centralized commencement and contract signing of major projects to implement the strategy of strengthening the provincial capital. A total of 293 projects, each with an investment of more than 50 million yuan, were launched. An estimated total investment of 120.9 billion yuan and an estimated annual investment of 43.6 billion yuan would be made. Forty-eight major projects were signed, with a total investment of 120 billion yuan.
The new energy auto parts industrial park project of the airport zone of the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area is a representative project this time. The project covers about 1,000 mu (66.7 ha.) and built by BYD Co., Ltd. with an investment of 5.2 billion yuan. It will be built into a strategic base for BYD's new energy auto parts. Upon completion and put into production, it is expected to make an annual output value of no less than 5 billion yuan.
"We will make every effort to promote the construction of the new energy auto parts industrial park, drive a number of auto parts companies to settle down, further strengthen the industrial chain, and accelerate the development, transformation and upgrading of the auto industry cluster," said Zhu Bin, general manager of Changsha BYD Company. He added that it only took 56 working days from contract signing and commencement, which embodied a strong sense of responsibility of Changsha City and the airport zone.
The projects that started construction this time have large volume, excellent structure, and people's livelihood-oriented. This year construction of projects are advanced fast. The centralized commencement of projects in the second quarter of this year was launched 2 months earlier than that of last year. There were 128 new projects compared with the same period last year, with an extra investment of 22.5 billion yuan.
At the project signing ceremony, the Changsha Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Taikang Insurance Group Co., Ltd. The Xiangjiang New Area, Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, relevant national and provincial industrial parks, and districts and counties (cities) signed a number of major projects with enterprises such as iFLYTEK and ENN Group. The projects involved intelligent manufacturing, headquarters economy, comprehensive development of areas, new infrastructure and other forms of business.
