Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, chaired a video meeting in Changsha with the mayors and prefecture head across Hunan Province on the afternoon of April 18, 2022. He comprehensively summarized the results of the first quarter and studied and arranged the work of the second quarter.

He asked to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan; fulfil the positioning, missions, and tasks of the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy; act on the principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, high-quality development, and the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy; and, promote the “Three Major Supports and Eight Key Points” Work. He called for accomplishing more than half of the annual tasks in the first half of the year, and taking pragmatic actions to pave the way for a successful 20^th CPC National Congress.

On April 18, Governor Mao presided over a video conference of the mayors and prefecture head across Hunan Province and delivered a speech.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Zhang Yingchun, He Baoxiang, Chen Fei, Xu Xianhui, and Wang Yi’ou attended. Deng Qunce, secretary general of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, reported on the progress of the “Three Major Supports and Eight Key Points” Work in the first quarter.

Governor Mao listened to the reports made by the 13 cities and 1 prefecture leaders. He noted that since the beginning of this year, the whole province has coordinated epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development. The main economic indicators were better than those of the national average, in line with expectations, and operating stably. They showed a momentum of steady start, moving forward while maintaining stability, and pressure in stability. It was expected that the regional GDP will increase by about 6%, which was expected to be more than 1 percentage point higher than the national average, achieving a “stable and good start”.
