MOC Allocates 30 Million Yuan to Assist Chengbu in Rural Revitalization

The review meeting of the 2022 designated assistance in pursuing rural revitalization through village-level demonstration projects of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) was held in Chengbu Miao Autonomous County on April 9, 2022. After going through such procedures as making public replies and other methods, the meeting has determined that there would be 30 million yuan of MOC assistance funds allocated to support 6 Chengbu villages for rural revitalization.

The main persons in charge of 13 townships (towns, farms) in Chengbu made their open replies on the implementation background and goals, construction content, feasibility and risks, demonstration and promotion, and model innovation of the rural revitalization projects. The judges determined the assistance projects based on the results of the former field inspections, the performance of the replies, and the feasibility of the projects. The qualified projects were:

- Miao fragrant pear variety improvement base project of Shuiyuan Village, Lanrong Township;

- Quality improvement project for the lotus and fish farming base in Jinxing Village, Maoping Town;

- Rural tourism industry integrated development project in Dazhai Village, Chang'anying Town and Liulin Village, Jiangfang Township;

- Ethnic characteristic sightseeing agriculture project in Taolin Village, Dankou Town; and,

- Red cultural tourism project in Pengying Village, Tingping Township.

They each received 5 million yuan of financial support.

Chengbu enjoys designated assistance by MOC. Since 2013, MOC has selected a number of outstanding young cadres to support its poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. It has directly invested and introduced 100 million yuan of assistance funds to assist Chengbu’s economic and social development.
