Hunan Closes Scenic Spots, Cultural Venus amid Epidemic

Some scenic spots and cultural venues are temporarily closed until further notice due to the epidemic.


Hengshan Mountain

Due to current severe COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control situation, and in order to effectively protect the health and safety of tourists and residents, all scenic spots in Hengshan Mountain, including Nanyue Temple Scenic Spot, Hengshan Core Scenic Area, Wanshou Tripod, and Shuilian Cave, and all places for religious activities in the region are temporarily closed from 8:00 am on March 31, 2022. This was to meet the anti-pandemic needs, and the reopening time will be notified separately according to the epidemic prevention and control situation.


Hunan Museum 


Starting from March 29, Hunan Museum was temporarily closed until further notice. Pre-booked tickets can be refunded via the Hunan Museum's ticketing system, and it may take longer for you to receive the refund.


Peng Dehuai Memorial Hall

Indoor venues of the Peng Dehuai Memorial Hall (including the Former Residence of Peng Dehuai and Exhibition Hall of Peng Dehuai Memorial Hall) were temporarily closed from March 29 until further notice.

Changsha Fantawild Oriental Heritage Theme Park

The park was temporarily closed from March 29 until further notice. A garden party scheduled to be held during the Qingming Festival has been cancelled. Those who have pre-booked tickets can get a refund in full via the ticket-booking platform. 

Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall


Yang Kaihui Memorial Hall was temporarily closed from March 28 until further notice.

Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area

The scenic area was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.

Orange Isle


Orange Isle has been classified as a prevention area at the moment. Its ticket-booking system and ticket offices for sightseeing buses are closed to avoid visitors’ gathering.


Changsha Underwater World


Changsha Underwater World will continue to close to the public till March 31. Any changes will be notified separately.

Those who have pre-booked tickets online can get a refund in full by submitting an application. It may take longer for you to receive the refund. Those who have bought annual cards can extend the valid date of their cards.


Changsha Window on the World

The park will continue to close to the public till March 31. Those who hold annual cards can extend the valid date for 11 days. Those who have booked the discounted tickets for March can extend the valid date to April 29. Those who had the tickets refunded due to the epidemic can enjoy concessionary tickets by showing refund records and ID cards.

Lei Feng Memorial Hall

The memorial hall was temporarily closed from March 28 until further notice. An online exhibition is available via the WeChat official account of “Hunan Lei Feng Memorial Hall [湖南雷锋纪念馆]”.

Hunan CPC History Museum

The museum was temporarily closed from March 28 until further notice.


Changsha County Library


The library was temporarily closed from March 28 until further notice.


All off-line services and activities are suspended during this period. Online services on the WeChat official account and the official website are available. Overdue fees for borrowed books during this period can be exempted. You may keep an eye on library updates. 


Changsha Ecological Zoo

The zoo's vehicle area, polar museum, forest theater, panlong garden, and crocodile museum were temporarily closed from March 28. The specific opening time will be notified.

Hunan Museum of Geology 

The museum was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.

Hunan Science and Technology Museum

The museum was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.


Yanghua National Wetland Park


The park was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.


Scenic Spots and Cultural Venues in Wangcheng District

All scenic spots and cultural venues including museums, libraries, and cultural centers were temporarily closed from March 27. The move aimed to further cope with epidemic prevention and control and protect the lives and health of the people.

Jinggang Ancient Town, Tongguan Kiln National Archaeological Site Park, and Heimifeng National Forest Park announced to suspend operation.

Yuelu District Cultural Center

The cultural center was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.


New Cultural Center of Yuelu District

Dawei Mountain National Forest Park


The park was temporarily closed from March 27 until further notice.

Hunan Martyrs Park

The park was temporarily closed from March 26 until further notice.

Scenic Spots in Liuyang City

All scenic spots including rural tourist sites, homestays, cultural venues such as museums, libraries, cultural centers were temporarily closed from March 26 until further notice.

Hunan Provincial Library of Juveniles and Children

The library was temporarily closed from March 25. You may keep an eye on updates by visiting the official website or following the WeChat official account.


Overdue fees for borrowed books and magazines during this period can be exempted. Online reading activities will be carried out when it permits.

Scenic Spots in Yueyang City

Four 4A-level scenic spots including Junshan Wild Lotus Park, Sheng’an Temple, Yangsha Lake, Shiniuzhai Tourist Area, and eight 3A-level scenic spots including Shisancun Sauce Culture Expo Park, Milu (Elk) Garden, Xichang Scenic Spot, Zuo Zongtang Cultural Park, Pude Cultural Park, Shending Mountain, Changde Ancient Town, and Nanquan Temple were closed from March 25.

Cultural Tourism Venues in Hengyang City

Cultural tourism venues in Hengyang City were temporarily closed from 17:00 on March 24 until further notice.

Scenic Spots in Yiyang City

Scenic spots in Yiyang City implement staggered shifts and reservation systems and limit the number of visitors to no more than 50% of a capping number while taking regular anti-epidemic measures including asking tourists to scan venue QR codes, have temperature measured, and wear masks.

Li Zijian Art Museum


The museum was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.The move aimed to further cope with epidemic prevention and control and protect the lives and health of the people.

Huayi Brothers Film Town

The town was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Guanshan Ancient Town

The town was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Meixi Lake Grand Theater


The Grand Theater of Meixi Lake International Culture and Arts Center was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice. Some performances are cancelled or postponed.

Hunan Xiang Embroidery Museum

The museum was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Meilun Art Museum

The museum was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Changsha Museum of Art

The museum was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Tan Guobin Contemporary Art Museum

The museum was temporarily closed from March 23 until further notice.

Yuelu Academy

The academy was temporarily closed from March 22 until further notice.

Kaifu Temple

The temple was temporarily closed from March 21 until further notice. All religious activities were suspended.

Tanhe Ancient Town

The town was temporarily closed from March 19 until further notice.

Changsha Concert Hall

Performances scheduled to be held between March 18 and April 9 are cancelled due to the epidemic. You may follow the WeChat official account “Changsha Concert Hall [长沙音乐厅]” to learn about the updates. Those who have booked tickets can get a refund automatically online.
