At 19:50 on March 27, the first five COVID-19 patients in this round of epidemic in Huaihua City were discharged from the First People's Hospital of Huaihua City.

"When I learned that I was diagnosed with novel coronavirus, I was very scared. But I was quickly recovered after careful treatment by medics and psychological counseling by psychiatrists. I would like to say thank you to all of you," said Shumei (pseudonym).

The symptoms of the five infected patients were typically mild. Case-by-case treatment was prescribed after two consultations a day by experts from a medical treatment team of the First People's Hospital of Huaihua City. The patients were recovered after being given therapies, TCM herbal soup, and psychological counseling. After evaluation by provincial and municipal experts, the patients met standards for discharge of COVID-19 confirmed cases described in the Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Covid-19 (Trial Version 9) released by the National Health Commission. They are under closed-loop management and transferred to a designated hotel for a 14-day health monitoring.
