On March 28, a ceremony was held in the Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone to mark the launch of the first Hunan-Guangdong-Africa freight train for exported Geely automobiles. 160 Geely automobiles will be transported via the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea combined transport train and transferred at Shenzhen’s Shekou Port onto a ship to reach the Port Klang in Malaysia on April 7.

Hence, Xiangtan City began to join in the Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea transport channel. It became Hunan’s first city that conducts export via combined transport and international logistics channel.

The Hunan-Guangdong-Africa rail-sea combined transport route is one of Hunan’s five major international logistics channels. With Zhuzhou as the hub, the route links seamlessly with the shipping routes around the world that arrive at and depart from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area port cluster, and extends business to Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Latin America. This route provides a convenient logistics channel for importing and exporting of Hunan and other provinces in China's central and western regions.

“Geely can cut 20% logistics costs and 3 to 5 days of transport time via this route,” said Peng Guangze, general manager of the route operator.

Hunan and Malaysia have frequent trading, and Malaysian customers prefer the Geely Coolray automobiles. This year, Geely will export 60,000 cars, among which 40,000 will be delivered to Malaysia via this rail-sea transport channel.
