Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, presided over the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group and Headquarters Conference in Changsha on March 21, 2022. The meeting analyzed and reported relevant situation of the COVID-19 pandemic across Hunan Province, and arranged the epidemic prevention and control work in the next step.

Secretary Zhang asked to study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches, directives, and instructions on COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control; have a deeper understanding of the complexity and ardousness of the prevention and control work and the resurgence of COVID-19 at home and abroad; give top priority to people's safety and health; and, take epidemic control a most important work. We should strengthen confidence, maintain focus and determination, and take the most resolute, powerful and effective measures to curb the spread of the epidemic soonest, he added.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, delivered a speech. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended.

On March 21, Secretary Zhang Qingwei inspected the Hunan Provincial COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters.

The meeting was held via video link, and all the cities and prefecture set up their sub venues respectively. Provincial leaders Wang Shuangquan, Li Dianxun, Wu Guiying, Xie Weijiang, Yang Haodong, He Baoxiang, Chen Fei, and Xu Xianhui attended the meeting at the main venue or sub venues respectively.
