On the morning of March 19, Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress; Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province; Li Weiwei, chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee; Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; and, other provincial officials attended a voluntary tree planting campaign with the cadres and the masses at the tree planting site in Baizhu Park, Tiaoma Town, Yuhua District, Changsha City.

Secretary Zhang asked to implement Xi Jinping thought on eco-civilization; uphold ecological conservation as a priority and pursue green development; continue to carry out voluntary tree planting activities; carry out afforestation and greening efforts; and, accelerate the building of Hunan into an ecologically strong and beautiful province.
