A road transport work conference of Hunan Province was held on March 11, 2022. According to the conference, Hunan will give priority to accelerating construction of 35 integrated passenger and freight transportation hubs this year, including Yiyang High-speed Railway South Station and Jishou Shuangtang High-speed Railway Station. Among them, five hubs should be completed this year. The quality of transportation services will be further improved to enhance people’s sense of gain, happiness, and security in such field.
Xie Boping, director of the Hunan Provincial Road Transport Administration, stated that, five of the 35 targeted integrated hubs will be completed, and 12 new ones will start construction this year. Meanwhile, the construction of 56 ordinary passenger and freight hubs will be stepped up, among which 21 will be completed and 15 will be inaugurated. Beyond that, the construction of the second batch of 20 demonstration counties in integration of urban and rural passenger transportation, and the third batch of 27 pilot regions, will be boosted.
In 2021, Hunan’s road transport stations maintained safe and stable operation, and completed 6.814 billion yuan of fixed-asset investment. Twenty-five passenger and freight stations had been completed, such as the Zhangjiajie Integrated Passenger Transport Hub and the Hunan Apower Road Port. There are 55 demonstration counties in integration of urban and rural passenger transportation, covering 45% of the county-level regions of the province.
