On March 9, the Information Office of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government held a press conference in Changsha on the Hunan Week activities in the China Pavilion during the Expo 2020 Dubai. Hunan Province, a major participator in the China Pavilion during the expo, will launch a “Hunan Week” in the pavilion between March 16 and 18, 2022.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with the requirements of the China Pavilion management committee, the Hunan Week activities will be held both inside and outside the host country, in both online and offline forms. The activities include warm-up road shows, opening ceremony, online pavilion tour, promotion of key industries, match-making meeting in key industrial sectors, themed city day, online expo of Hunan products in the Middle East, and offline exhibitions.
The opening ceremony will be held in Changsha, and participated by the guests around the world via video links with the China Pavilion at the expo. Hunan’s competitive industries will be promoted, such as construction machinery, modern agriculture, cultural tourism, animation and cartoon, and rail transit. Changsha, Yiyang, and Chenzhou cities will organize the city day activities both online and offline.
Hunan elements are to be highlighted around the China Pavilion. A promotion video of Hunan Province will be broadcasted on the large screens in and out of the pavilion. A “Beautiful New Hunan” photography exhibition will be launched in Dubai. Hunan’s five calling cards – embroidery, tea, alcohol, edible oil, and landscapes, will be presented at a Hunan specialty exhibition. Some representative products of these specialties have arrived in Dubai to be presented as souvenirs to visitors.
The online expo of Hunan products in the Middle East will kick off on the day of the opening ceremony. Online exhibitions and enterprise match-making meetings will be held on the Enterprise Hunan Network (EHN), a digital platform serving Hunan-based enterprises in international operation. More than 300 enterprises in culture, tourism, intelligent manufacturing, health, and energy conservation and environmental protection will participate, to present themselves, seek partners, and make livestreaming promotions.
The Hunan Week aims to promote exchange and cooperation between Hunan and the Middle Eastern countries, and even the world, in economy, trade, and culture, so as to make the world better understand Hunan, and push Hunan to go global at a high level, said He Jian, chairman of the CCPIT Hunan Sub-council.
