A Winter Olympics-themed concert was held at the Changsha Concert Hall on March 8 evening, as a prelude to the 2022 Hunan Music Season of the Changsha Symphony Orchestra.
Three such concerts will be performed by the Changsha Symphony Orchestra recently. They are: "In Memory of Brahms" Symphony Concert on March 18; "Music String Sound" Symphony Concert on March 24 ; and, "Chinese and Foreign Classic Symphonic Poem" Concert on April 10.
Famous musicians including conductors Jiang Jinyi and Zou Xiang, pianist Yuan Jie, and violinist Liu Xiao will be invited to join the music season. This will help promote and popularize classical music.
The concert was sponsored by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Publicity Department, Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Hunan Performing Arts Group; undertaken by the Changsha Symphony Orchestra and Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television; and, co-organized by the Changsha Concert Hall and Changsha Binjiang Cultural Park Management Center.
Wang Zhi, secretary and head of the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, was the concert’s chief planner. Xiao Ming, music director and chief conductor of the Changsha Symphony Orchestra, was the conductor. Young violinist He Shucong served as the violin soloist, and the Changsha Symphony Orchestra was the performer.
