On the morning of March 7, the brand building of Hunan Iron and Steel Group was launched in Changsha. The unveiling ceremony of the Hunan Iron and Steel Group was held simultaneously. Zhu Guoxian, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and vice governor of Hunan Province, and Chen Fei, secretary of the CPC Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government, attended the unveiling ceremony.

Hunan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as Hunan Valin Steel Group Co., Ltd., was jointly established by the three major iron and steel enterprises in Hunan Province at the end of 1997—Xiangtan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.; Lianyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.;and, Hengyang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. In 2021, Hunan Iron and Steel Group had a revenue of more than 210 billion yuan and a total profit of 15 billion yuan, both hitting a record high.

The name change of the company is necessary for the following purposes:
-- Sustaining revolutionary legacy and passing down revolutionary traditions;
-- Adhering to strategic positioning and fulfilling tasks and missions of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy; and,
-- Raising the profile of advanced manufacturing industry of Hunan Province.

Efforts will be made to increase the popularity of the advanced steel material manufacturing of Hunan Province by strengthening brand building.

Hunan Iron and Steel Group will be committed to building a national and world-class Hunan brand, a national first-class metallurgical base, a top-notch and high-end innovative brand, an open and shared market brand, a green and low-carbon environmental protection brand, a cultural brand that upholds the struggling spirit, and a party building brand through mutual exchanges. By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan, the group will achieve an annual sales revenue of over 300 billion yuan, a per capita steel production of over 2,000 tons, and a profit of over 20 billion yuan.
