At around 8:00 a.m. on March 5, the Hunan-based deputies to the National People’s Congress (NPC) got on buses to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

At 9 o'clock in the morning, the fifth session of the 13th NPC opened at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. A total of 116 Hunan-based NPC deputies would participate in this grand event and discussed state affairs together with deputies from all over the country.
