Ganniao Festival is a tradtional festival of Yao ethnic group. It is annually observed on the first day of February on the lunar calander. This is to commemorate the custom that ancient Yao people kept the newly sown grain seeds from being pecked by birds via singing songs to achieve a bumper harvest.
