The 2022 Changsha Intellectual Property Work Conference was held on March 2. It announced that, Changsha will strive to be one of the first group of national intellectual property demonstration cities this year. This will make the city at the forefront in building China into a country with strong intellectual property protection.

This year, Changsha will beef up efforts to increase IPC (International Patent Classification) resources for rapid pre-examination; continue to expand industrial fields that patent pre-examination is applicable to; accelerate the construction of the Changsha Workstation of Patent Examination Cooperation Hubei Center of the Patent Office, CNIPA in an all-round way; and, provide more and better services for the development of innovation entities in Changsha.

Changsha will also make every effort to build a demonstration zone for intellectual property protection. The role of the three mechanisms--the joint conference on intellectual property protection, coordination and consultation on major cases, and information exchanging and sharing, will be fully leveraged. Coordination among public security, prosecuting, court, judicial and arbitration agencies will be enhanced.

Changsha will prioritize administrative protection of intellectual property in key areas that are related to public interests and the vital interests of the people, such as food and medicine, public health, and agriculture and rural areas.

Changsha will give full play to Changsha Intellectual Property Protection Center’s functions of rapid examination, rapid confirmation of rights, and rapid safeguarding of rights, and fully open up pre-examination areas for the new-generation information technology industry.
