A work conference on Changsha housing and urban-rural construction was held on February 28. It announced that Changsha will roll out 638 municipal infrastructure projects this year, with a planned investment of 56.59 billion yuan. This is a practical measure to implement the strategy of strengthening the provincial capital.
 
Wang Weisheng, director of the Changsha Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Bureau, introduced that this year, Changsha will focus on advancing the construction of four river-crossing passages, namely, Xiangya Road, Muping Bridge, Xinglian Road, and Xiangluzhou. It will comprehensively promote the construction of supporting roads around Changsha Huanghua International Airport, including Laodong Road East Extension, Xiangfu Road East Extension, and Airport Axis Avenue.
 
Centering on major municipal projects in key areas such as the High-speed Railway West Town, Changsha will steadily promote the construction of Changsha Metro Line 7, Changsha Metro Line 1 North Extension Phase I, Changsha Metro Line 2 West Extension Phase II, and Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Rail Transit West Ring Line; and, strive to start the construction of Changsha-Ningxiang Maglev Express Line within this year. It will advance the construction of Changsha-Liuyang Express Line, and get through 10 urban dead-end roads and bottle neck roads including Huanbao Avenue East Extension, Xiajuan Road Tunnel, Gufeng Road South Section, and Beijincheng Road East Section.

Meanwhile, Changsha will carry out rectification of urban water environment problems based on feedback from the second round of central environmental inspections. A rain and sewage diversion project will be vigorously implemented in the urban municipal pipe network. The construction of 32 projects, with a total investment of 26.1 billion yuan will be advanced. Emphasis will be put on rectifying four typical problems of Xiaoximen Pump Station, Zhaozhougang Pump Station, Shibei Dagang Outlet, and Ganshengyuan Sewage Plant.
