Between February 23 and 24, Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, visited Huaihua City to inspect the construction progress of a land port and a railway hub; the development of logistics and other industries; spring ploughing and production; and, disaster prevention and reduction.

Secretary Zhang asked to thoroughly study and implement the spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, directives, and instructions made when inspecting Hunan Province. He stressed the need to adhere to the people-centered development philosophy, forge ahead with stamina and diligence to turn entrepreneurship enthusiasm into strong impetus for high-quality development, and contribute to creating a new situation of opening up in Hunan Province that will prioritize the Belt and Road Initiative.
