Hunan Government Holds Talks with CAS, CAE, CAAS in Beijing

On February 21, the People’s Government of Hunan Province held talks with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) in Beijing. They had in-depth exchanges on comprehensive implementation of the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches, directives, and instructions on Hunan Province.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province; Li Xiaohong, CAE president; Zhang Hecheng, secretary of the CPC CASS Leadership Group; and, Zhang Tao, CAS vice president, attended.

Chen Fei and Wang Yi’ou, Hunan vice governors; Zhong Zhihua and He Huawu, CAE vice presidents; Deng Qunce, secretary general of Hunan government; and, Bai Lianyang, a CAE academician, were present.

Governor Mao thanked CAS, CAE, and CAAS for their long-term support to Hunan. He noted that in recent years, Hunan has fully implemented the positioning, missions, and tasks of the “Three Hubs and Four New Missions” Strategy, and seized the strategic opportunity of the rise of the central region. Last year, the provincial GDP reached 4.6 trillion yuan, and is expected to exceed 5 trillion yuan this year. Hunan will contribute its own part to the development of the whole China.

On February 21, Governor Mao visited the CASS National Institute of Crop Germplasm Resources.
