Secretary Zhang Announces Commencement of Major Projects

Centralized commencement ceremonies for Hunan's major projects in 2022 were held simultaneously in the province's 13 cities and 1 prefecture on the morning of February 18. A total of 1,428 major projects were involved, each with an investment of over 50 million yuan. Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, attended the ceremony at the main venue in Changsha, and announced the commencement of projects. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, attended and delivered a speech. Li Weiwei, chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, was present.

Provincial leaders Li Dianxun, Wu Guiying, Xie Weijiang, Zhang Yingchun, Liu Lianyu, and Chen Fei, and municipal leaders Zheng Jianxin, Peng Huasong, and Liu Yongbing attended the ceremony at the main venue or sub-venues.

In addition to the main venue in Ningxiang, there were two sub-venues set up in Changsha, namely the Liuyang sub-venue and the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park and Changsha Urban Development Group sub-venue.

According to statistics, Changsha plans to launch 266 major projects with a total investment of 196.684 billion yuan in the first quarter of this year. Among them, there are 3 projects each worth over 10 billion yuan, 6 projects each worth between 5 billion and 10 billion yuan (including 5 billion), and 35 projects each worth between 1 billion and 5 billion yuan (including 1 billion).

From the perspective of project structure, industrial development projects become the main force, with the number reaching 190 and the investment accounting for 89.33% of the total. In addition, there are 35 infrastructure projects, 35 social welfare projects, and 6 ecological and environmental protection projects.
