On February 16, four enterprises, including the Hunan Construction Engineering Group (HNCEG) and the Jihua 3517 Rubber Products Co., Ltd., signed a cooperation agreement on the “Hunan+” Côte d’Ivoire project. The project will focus on advancing the investment, construction, production, operation, and import and export trade of non-resource product processing industry.
The project consists of two parts – Côte d’Ivoire agricultural product processing factories and the Côte d’Ivoire industrial park in Hunan. HNCEG will engage in the former part. As agreed, 11 preliminary processing factories will be built in Côte d’Ivoire, and 4 finish machining factories will be located in the Chenglingji Comprehensive Bonded Area in Yueyang.
The estimated construction costs of the agricultural product processing factories amount to 391 million USD. The construction of these factories will start successively between March and June 2022, and be completed before August 2023. Upon operation, they can produce 400,000 tons of rubber, 300,000 tons of palm oil, and 200,000 tons of kapas cotton annually.
Africa has become the core market for HNCEG's overseas development. HNCEG is constructing, or will launch 11 projects in nine African countries, including Ghana, Burundi, and Kenya, with a total contract value of 1.379 billion USD. Twenty projects in Africa, including several landmark buildings, had been completed.
