The Changsha Customs announced on February 14th that about 140-million-yuan exports have benefited from implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement that took effect in Hunan Province on January 1st, 2022.
Since implementing the RCEP agreement, a total of 139 RCEP certificates of origin and declaration of origin were issued for exports. The value of these exports came in at about 138 million yuan. The exports included electrolytic manganese metal, lamps, antimony trioxide, and fireworks. The RCEP certificates of origin helped reduce tariffs for these enterprises by 1,656,000 yuan. In addition, the Changsha Customs handled two import orders that enjoyed RCEP benefits and are valued at 209,800 yuan.
The Changsha Customs introduced that Hunan and RCEP member countries have strong complementarity in industries. Currently, the Changsha Customs offers services customized for enterprises, especially key industries and leading enterprises. It actively studies and analyzes potentials for enterprises to enjoy RCEP benefits to lay a foundation for companies to enjoy preferential policies under the RCEP agreement, including tariffs reduction and accumulation rules, and further to expand the export volume of featured products of Hunan Province. In addition, Changsha Customs has simplified the visa process, promoted intelligent verification, and offered self-service printing and other services to ensure efficient customs clearance of exports in destination countries.
